About Me

Dr. Amrita Chawla is a gastroenterologist who provides compassionate, evidence-based care that respects, supports, and empowers patients. The most rewarding part of her work is having an impact on patients' lives and helping them find relief. She earned her medical degree at New York Medical College and completed her residency as well as a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. She is proud to be at Holy Name because patients receive state-of-the-art care from professionals who take a genuine interest in their health.

Dr. Chawla's research has been published in esteemed journals including Surgical Endoscopy, Gastroenterology, the American Journal of Gastroenterology, and the Journal of Molecular Biology.
